Hi to all, I tried Dsl on an old laptop asus 7200 series(I think was useless) and everything works quite well.
I had a problem with the Beaver text editor. I'm italian so, for writing, I need this characters à è  ì ò ù. I configured my keybord to 'it' and also 'it2' but both the configurations don't print the characters.  Other editors instead(vi, nano) work correctly.
Any advice could be usefull. Thanks. Paolo

Maybe i found the problem: it's the default charset. I decided to try writing with vi because, as I said in previous post, I can use the
characters à,è,...
But on my desktop, where I use Ubuntu, I still can't see the carachters wrote with vi. Ubuntu use the UTF-8.How can I cange the cahrset to UTF-8? Thanks

Unicode would be a big undertaing and take much room.
Also many of the smaller applications were not compiled with or likely not even made to support unicode. Still, would be an interesting extension and to see what and how many applications could support such. Maybe someone is up to such a task?
