Hi,

I'm using kadu communicator.
That app has such options like sound modules - you know, when somebody is writing to me there should be a sound.
Well, I dpkg'ed :) : kadu-aosound, kadu-nassound and kadu-esdsound.
(My soundcard: Sound Blaster AWE64)
The problem is that kadu needs /usr/bin/play to open the sound and I don't have it.
So, is there a solution for that?

p.s I'm also not sure which sound-module I should use for my card.

Looks like /usr/bin/play comes with "sox".

I suppose an alternate solution would be to use another player, i.e. mpg123, etc. instead

If your soundcard is not automatically detected, you can probably issue "modprobe sb".  How is this card connected to your system?
