FYI,

Unlike NEdit, when you choose File->Open in Scite only the regular files and directories appear in the Open File Selection Window.

However, you can still view and choose hidden files or hidden directories by doing the following:

Click inside the File Selection: box at the bottom of the window so that your cursor is blinking inside it.

Press and release the period key on your keyboard. You should now see a period "." inside the File Selection box.

Press the TAB key on your keyboard.

All of the hidden files and directories should suddenly appear in the window and you can choose them just like any other normal file or directory.

Excellent tip, cbagger01, and thanks!

I had never worked with Scite before DSL and have been supplying the path/filename to get those files open. Dot-Tab takes that pain away!

Yes, it *will* work!

FYI,

Supposedly that dot TAB thing will work for any program that uses the standard GTK File Open Selector window.

So if you are using another program that hides the files/directories from you, try the dot TAB thing. It just might also work for that program too.
