I have two parts to this question. please do not think i'm an idiot. well i am in terms of not using windows =P . i would like to play with DSL but i would also like to be running a msn messenger client to talk to my friends at the same time, could someone name me a client icould use please? and second how would i go about using this client, would i burn it to the same boot disk as DSL? or if it were less than 1.44 mb could i put it on a Floppy disk and then load it from there? or what? thanks

Your best (and easiest) bet is to remaster it, or add a script and download it like firebird.
Here's a few:
Gaim (bit on the bloat side) gaim.sourceforge.net
gtmess (console) http://www.geocities.com/montajoe/gtmess/
amsn (not bad...) http://amsn.sourceforge.net/

PS: Msn changes its protocol version frequently. Older versions WILL not work

Now, a question on that - how would one go about adding a script like that to the menu ?

trice,

From one newbie to another this is what I've found to work best.  Check out the DSL Ideas and Suggestions section.  Look for the thread "Install Script for Synaptic".  Once you get Synaptic to work you can install Gaim or an other MSN Client on the fly.

Gtmess looks interesting though, and it's only about 300Kb when all the documentation and extraneous files are removed.
