How do I uninstall or disable flash?

I have an hd install of DSL and I installed Firefox. It installed flash. Now I realize that I don't want flash to be on all the time cause a lot of websites have flash ads and that slows down my old laptop. So how do I disable or uninstall flash?

Remove the .libflashplayer.so file from your /opt/.firefox_plugins directory.

In emelfm, you need to press the " H " button under the word Bookmarks to see the hidden files..

Install the Flashblock extension for Firefox.

It doesn't load Flash thingies until you click on them. Very good for slow machines.
