Is there a way to take the favorites off one of my windows machines and drag and drop them into a specific folder for either gLinks or Dillo?

thanks!!

If you're talking about IE favorites, then I doubt it.  IE uses a separate file for each link, arranged in actual folders.  Links (I'm not sure about Dillo) uses a single html file for everything.  You would probably need a conversion script of some kind which reads each favorites folder and file, and adds the appropriate info into an html document.

thanks alot mik!

i see what ya mean about the html file. the upside is that, altho painfully slow, i can edit the bookmark file with a bunch of my fav's. They appear in the browser as bookmarks...no probs.

thanks again

mik,

i think i spoke too soon...

home/dsl/.links/bookmarks.htm modifies fine...I can add as many bookmarks as I want and it works great...links is happy.

I tried the same with home/dsl/.dillo/bm.txt and it worked ONCE. After that the bookmark button don't do jack. Of course I didn't copy the file anyplace.

would it be too much trouble for you to post the bm.txt so I can fix mine?

thanks again

FYI,

IE 6.0 has a favorites Export feature. I haven't used it, but it is located at: File -> Import and Export   Choose "Export Favorites" and it should create a bookmarks.htm file.

Also, the Windows version of Firefox can automatically import your IE favorites. It may also exist in the Linux version but I have never tried to find it.
