You need to backup your ./home/dsl/ xtdesktop directory, that contains the new files that you made. In your filetool.lst, you need this line: home/dsl/.xtdesktop Then, when you restore, your files will return. If you have made a change to the default text colors, then this file will need to be backed up also: home/dsl/xtdeskrc --- There is another way, and I use this: change the menu, and backup/restore that. Here is the part of my menu that has Firefox:
Code Sample | Debian MENU [begin] (Menu) [exec] (Root Shell) {rxvt -rv -fn fixed -cr yellow -T "Bash" -e sudo /bin/bash} [submenu] (Dialer) {} [exec] (dial) {rxvt -rv -T "dial" -e sudo wvdial} [exec] (hangup) { rxvt -rv -T "Hangup" -e sudo killall wvdial} [end] [exec] (Mozilla FireFox) {/opt/firefox/firefox} [exec] (Opera 6.03) {/usr/bin/opera} [exec] (Sylpheed Mail) {sylpheed}

--- Then, you need to have this line in your filetool.lst: home/dsl/.fluxbox That will backup the entire directory, with your menu file in it, and also the other files, such as styles that you may use. --- Look at the Getting Started guide link in my signature to see how I handle all that in my remaster of DSL 0.8.2, much of it applies to your situation. ---
