Gmail and DSL's stock sylpheed dont get along, no matter what i do to encourage them.  The messages receive and send fine, but i get an error at every sending at sylpheed can't just bypass it in any way, so nothing ends up getting saved to the sent folder, unless i manually move them there.
current version from apt-testing is 2.0.....and it works perfectly.

O_o I use gmail with sylpheed every day, and it works fine.

Also, Sylpheed 2 needs gtk2. Kinda fat, ya know.

undertow,

I have the same problem.

It doesn't give you a really error message or an error number. It just says an error has happened. The message seems to be sent but the draft copy is left on the screen and not moved to the 'sent' directory.

Item 14 in this link newolduser blog explains how I installed it. Maybe I did something wrong that someone can point out.

======== Note =========
The DSL Forum Search default is 'OR'
If you search for "cat dog" you will get all "cat" posts and all "dog" posts.
If you search for "cat AND dog" you will only find results that contain BOTH "cat" and "dog"
Add '*' for wildcards, " cat* and dog* "

Same problem here.  POP is fine, SMTP is no go.

I think I've tried about every permutation of settings (SSL, STARTTLS, port #s, etc.).

Anyone have it working and can post their settings?
