It is my understanding that the V10000's can actually run fanless with a big enough heatsink and good ventilation.

If you mean the M10000 (same as mine), people have got it to work. The cases by Hush, almost literally strap the CPU thermally to a dirty great heatsink and case. Also, there the compact Scythe E-Otonashi which uses heat pipes to attach the CPU heatsink to the case. May try to make my system quiter in the future as its about as loud as my main PC! Although its mostly due to the included case fan.

Just to hopefully pick someone's brains here (as I'm struggling to find out for absolutely
definitely sure with my searches - i.e. before I lose money) does anyone happen to know if I
can fit a slim optical drive, 256Mb of low profile RAM and an IDE to compact flash +
flash onto a EPIA 5000 in a C136 case?? I'd love to have a shot at it if its possible....
