I was just looking at slashdot - they're talking about the solid state drives
Quote | In another year or so I predict we'll walk around with a bootable disk AND our data on a keychain, thus making computers neutral, diskless devices that anyone can walk up to and use. And they'll boot up instantly. |
Well, except for "boot up instantly" that pretty much sums up DSL doesn't it :-)
Oh and of course, someone replies that the average /. user will need more space than can fit on a keychain. But if you need that, you can get a laptop drive enclosure that runs off usb power and they hold up to what 80gb?
