It would be great if the XPde Destkop Environment could be a myDSL extension or even better if it would be an option to choose it during startup and use it as the default window manager instead of Fluxbox. Maybe a different iso maybe.

Here is a link to it: http://www.xpde.com/

I would ask "why in the..", but over time I'm beginning to accept that lots of people actually think XP doesn't look like poop.

y'know what...I think I might try it just for a chuckle.
If I run into any problems at all, though, I'm dumping it without a second thought.

Edit: From what I see so far, creating an extension for this is just an exercise in redundancy.  It's already compiled as a self-contained application, with the same type of wrapper used in some DSL extensions.
All you need to do in theory is extract and run it, just changing the path in "startxpde" to reflect its location.
I haven't actually tested it yet, though, since I'm still doing online stuff.

After a little bit of testing, I gotta say.....this is terrible.  It is in no way ready to be released as anything even remotely useable.  Unless you have particular applications installed, such as Evolution and whatever they use as a file manager, the desktop icons and start menu items are useless....and apparently can't be edited (*some* of them can be).  Practically everything I tried resulted in "command not found".  This wouldn't be annoying if it weren't for the fact that there are no configuration files...you're stuck with doing it their way or no way.

So...I guess you could say this is a lot like XP.

mikshaw -
No, you're absolutely right, default Luna is the ugliest interface ever created.  I immediately change the color scheme to Silver before I puke.  But, the interface itself has demonstrated high usability, slightly higher than OSX to the unfamiliar, according to the research I've seen.
