I'm trying it out now. When I downloaded the fluxbox 0.9.9 tar.gz, I looked around to see what has happened. The menu looked the same, normally, when one downloads a .dsl, then a new menu item appears at the top, so you can start the application. So I restarted the wm. Nothing. Then, I found in /home/dsl, the script "start_fluxdev". I examined it, and found that I must exit my window manager, and run it. Did that, and returned to X. I then applied my custom style "rapidweather", and that's what I have now. --- To include this window manager in my remaster, I suppose that I must keep the .tar.gz in the same place in the root of the CD with the other .dsl's that I have, mostly WM Dock apps. Also, I would want to keep the "start_fluxdev" script, and perhaps make a menu item for it. --- I note that the default number of desktops is 4. I added two more in the usual way, Menu > Desktop > Workspaces > New Workspace. Also, the default desktop naming scheme is "one" "two", etc. and the additional spaces are named "Workspace 5", etc. --- I note that the /home/dsl/.fluxbox/dev-init file is where such things as autohiding the toolbar can be done by the usual editing of this file, and then backing up the /home/dsl/.fluxbox directory in your backup.tar.gz. --- Usually, when I set up a remaster, I do all these things, and have the system start that way in the first place, without a restore. Changes can be made by the user, and when backed up, will restore that way. --- I am impressed with the icons in the toolbar for Opera, etc. and the transparent windows, menu, etc. are interesting. --- Personally, I like the fluxbox that is included in DSL 0.8.2, and I have made (as mentioned above) a style that I prefer over the stock style that comes with Flux Box 0. 9. 9. The transparent menu makes the menu items a little hard to read if one applies a background image such as I have. --- I'm testing it, but probably won't keep it this time around. ---
