hello !

I'm still a newbie on DSL, and I'm not used with Linux in general too much, and still less with Debian.

I've grabbed some packages on the packages.debian website, and some other in one of the DSL files mirrors. It works fine when I'm logged in as root, but the softs I setup are not disponible in the other user's menu.
I usually use the root account to setup softs (because it bores me to run a sudo su each time I want to use a strange command), and the "jojosan" account to work.

Another question : How may I install another desktop manager (Gnome), with which I'm more used.

Thanks for your answers !

deb files do not create menu items in fluxbox, you have to figure out where the executables have gone, typing the name of the program in xterm is a good start, but if not then look in /usr/bin (or /usr/games for most games), sometimes it puts stuff in /usr/x11r6/.
if you need more help then ask. :)
