As for the MyDSL Maker's disappearance. my host got sold, and the new guys are having trouble keeping their new-found DNS database straight (apparently). This came at the same time as my DN came up for renewal, so I'm mostly up an unpleasantly colored and odored creek without so much as an electric sausage to help guide my path through the disturbingly thick medium.
So I'm looking for a new host. I'll let you know when, but when it's back up, it'll be fordi.org (I have full control over the DNS entry so this won't happen again).
