For months I've been doing all my DSL customizations by remastering the CD...i had a directory with the ISO, extensions, and configuration files, and i burned it all to a new CD every time I made a change. With all the changes I make to my system, this costs a lot of discs.
Today, since I have 10gb of wasted space on a Windows partition I never use, I decided to steal a piece of that. I formatted an 800MB ext3 partition just for DSL extensions and a little space for optional work, and now boot up with "dsl mydsl=hda4". Now I can't believe I waited this long and wasted so many CDs. This mydsl partition thing is an unbelievably cool addition to a liveCD system. I can customize all I want, and know exactly how it will behave before I burn a new CD. Thank you!
