at least, i can not open (or even find) any data in dsl i copied from windows to my stick.
It's the same the other way round. How can i open a file in windows that i created in DSL and saved with the backup-function.

The backup file will be saves as:

backup.tar.gz

You can make a copy of this file and then work on the copy.

If you have a program like winrar or some of the Windows ZIP programs, you will be able to extract the archive and view the files.

I strongly suggest that you NOT rebuild an extracted archive or modify the original archive file from within MSwindows because Windows uses a different file structure/permissions etc

FYI,

If you want to save files DIRECTLY to your USBHDD drive so they can be seen by both MSWindows and DSL (but NOT embedded DSL),

open EMELFM AS SUPER USER and copy the file to /cdrom

You need to use a USBHDD install because when running USBZIP, the USBZIP partition is already full at 50MB

BTW, I have two partitions on my USB Flash Drive and Windows Reads/Writes to them just fine; however, I can't seem to mount the second partition in Linux.
