I'm putting this post here because I'm booting off a USB key.
DSL version: 2.2b Sound card: Creative Labs SB Audigy MyDSL ALSA-related modules on sda2: gnu-utils.dsl; alsa.dsl
The "alsa" cheatcode is listed in the "APPEND" line of "syslinux.cfg" on sda1 (manually putting in "dsl alsa" at the boot prompt has no effect on the problem).
The problem is, after running "ALSA Setup" on the "MyDSL" menu, alsaconf complains, "No supported PnP or PCI card found." Yet the output of "lspci" shows that the card's detected. Moreover, subsequently running alsaconf as root reveals that the "snd" module isn't being found. Nor is "snd_emu10k1", or any of the other ALSA modules ("snd_xxxxxx", where "xxxxxx" is "ac97_codec", "mixer_oss", etc.) that normally load when I'm running my main distro, Kanotix, off the hard drive.
What am I doing wrong? ALSA's worked fine with my sound card in previous versions of DSL (and all my other DSL extensions work fine).
