I had a problem today with a K8M800-M2 board.  It also has an AMD 2800+.  I tried booting DSL3.1, DSL2.4 and a customized DSL3.1 from the DVDROM with no luck.  The failsafe mode did work.  Likewise, Fedora flawlessly installed on the machine.  Perhaps it is a 2.4 kernel compatability issue with these boards?  I haven't tried the "apm=off" trick yet.

I am having similar problems on a EPIA V board.  Boot process gets upto detaecting USB devices then simply shutsdown (crash).  Does anyone have this working on the EPIA v board?  any hints on how-to get this done?
