does anyone ever try to make your DSL boot a little faster? can it boot as fast as 30s only?
ie: how to modify the autoconf-knoppix file in /etc ?
would someone give me some hints before i start to play around with that file
thanx

It will boot faster if you use the "no" boot command options. For example : dsl norestore noapci noapm nofirewire noscsi etc.

yes i did use those commands....
however when it come to autoconfiguration part in boot process i can see that it looks for all the devices it can...
now i just want to cut down the devices that it looks for to the ones i mention ealier...so that boot time can be shorter further...
But im not really sure how to change the code...

the slowest part is the scanning of the usb ports.
i'm thinking of buying an older motherboard with just
1 or 2 usb ports instead of the 6 or 8 that you get these days!
