Hi rarr!
Just check where the files you install are and put those directories on your menu.lst and make a backup. Then everything should appear when you boot the next time. Here comes my filetool.lst as an example:
opt/apsfilter/ opt/printcap opt/bootlocal.sh opt/powerdown.sh opt/.firefox_plugins home/dsl/filetool.lst home/dsl/Documents/ home/dsl/.Skype/ home/dsl/.xmms/ home/dsl/.mozilla/ home/dsl/.phoenix/ home/dsl/.opera/ home/dsl/.sylpheed/ home/dsl/.xinitrc home/dsl/.fluxbox/init home/dsl/Mail/ var/spool/lpd/
