I understand the concept of the backup and restore function in filetool.lst or so I think so anyway.

Everytime I boot up I need to copy the speedtouch tar ball, the speedtouch firmware and the gcc.dsl extension from the local hard disk to the usb drive.  Then install the extension un tar, complie, make and install the speedtouch drivers plus estup all the stuff in /etc/ppp.

Is there anyway to backup the speedtouch drivers etc? am I going to have to list all the files it installs in the filetool.lst?  What about the gcc extension?

cheers :)

Hi rarr!

Just check where the files you install are and put those directories on your menu.lst and make a backup. Then everything should appear when you boot the next time. Here comes my filetool.lst as an example:

opt/apsfilter/
opt/printcap
opt/bootlocal.sh
opt/powerdown.sh
opt/.firefox_plugins
home/dsl/filetool.lst
home/dsl/Documents/
home/dsl/.Skype/
home/dsl/.xmms/
home/dsl/.mozilla/
home/dsl/.phoenix/
home/dsl/.opera/
home/dsl/.sylpheed/
home/dsl/.xinitrc
home/dsl/.fluxbox/init
home/dsl/Mail/
var/spool/lpd/

I hope this is of any help to you!

Have fun,
meo
