Ok, i have a 128MB PNY Attache. I booted up the live CD (DSL 1.5), and used the USB-HDD installer script. I then tried to boot from it and it did not work. I didnt even get the DSL startup screen. My BIOS does support USB-HDD booting. I then tried the Winimage method, that didnt work, probably because i used the bootfloppy_usb file...but i couldnt find the bootusb.img... Anyways, I have tried so many different ways here, none of them working at all. I borrowed my brothers 128 MB leaxar jumpdrive elite, and used the Winimage method, again with the bootfloppy_usb, and it began to boot, only to go into kernel panic.....so...If anyone has any tried and true methods for getting a 128 MB PNY Attache to USB boot,,, please let me know. I have no idea what to do from here lol!!!!!

Do you get errors when you install?  I am pretty sure you need at least 256MB to do a Harddrive install.  Try a frugal install instead.

Uh,,, no, I don't think 128MB is too small...DSL itself is only 50 megs. Besides, when I look at the contents of my USB drive, all I see is the stuff from the bootusb.img file n stuff...Nothing from the actual DSL iso...Maybe the script is flawed?? IDK... Also...If I do a frugal install...(Havent tried it yet), how will I save my settings n stuff?? I plan on using DSL on my USB as a portable desktop environment...I want to be able to save stuff like bookmarks and a few games, besides tetris and pacman. And anyways,,, is the Attache even bootable with a BIOS that only supports USB-HDD? Thanks for the help all
Oh yeah...No errors, it supposedly installs fine....Just no bootage and I think some of the important files are missing.

When DSL is unpacked and installed to the hard drive it takes up about 150-200Mb. If you want to install it to a 128Mb pendrive, you need to do a frugal install.  A frugal install does not unpack the files, but keeps them compressed on the drive so you need far less space.  As far as saving things, all the directories with your personal settings should be saved by default, but if they aren't all you have to do is open up ~/.filetool.lst and type in the name of the directory or file you wish to save.

Hope this helps,
