Hi!
I'm new to linux and i really like DSL, would like to get it installed on my 512Mb SD card (i use it in a USB card reader). So i partitioned it and wanted to install dsl on one of the partitions to try USB booting, but now dsl can't even find my /dev/sda ... cdrecord --scanbus shows nothing but my cd-roms (and dmesg  grep SCSI says: failed initialization of WD-7000 SCSI card! i don't know what this means, maybe it has got nothing to do with my usb memory..?)
when checked with Windows 2000 Disk Manager the 55Mb partition seems to work allright, the other i can see but it can't be formatted, renamed or anything...

Is there something i can do or should i buy a new memory card?
/Mikko

Hello!

I'm using dsl-embedded on an usb-drive and that works very good. Since my bios doesn't support booting from usb I boot it from a cd when I don't use it embedded in Windows. I would suggest you to buy a usb-drive and try it out. Just remember that dsl-embedded takes up more space. I use a Sandisk Cruzer Titanium 512 and I find it incredible good for DSL.

Have fun,
meo

HI,

I think that your problem is the USB card reader, sure it's a multiple card reader!!, I have one and is not recognized by the usbbooting, you have to buy one only CF reader (or only SD reader).

have fun!!
