Hi, I can't seem to get it to run under 1280x800 which is my laptop widescreen resolution. When I run the setup, and xvesa options, they only give standard resolutions. Is there a way to use a custom resolution? Thanks.

Modify the values and restart x

One thing to be aware of when setting resolution and color depth in Qemu is that only so much memory is assigned to video resolution. As you increase resolution, color depth will need to be lessened. If you try to select the max on both it is not supposed to work (although I have never tried it).

I'm having a problem doing exactly that.. I want to set my resolution to 1280x800, so i followed the above suggestions.

After entering the command, the screen changes to that resolution, but its all pixely-greyish with the cursor turned to a big "X". Nothing else is visable/usable.

I tries 1280x800x32, 1280x800x24, and even 1280x800x16 and it all does the same thing

Any ideas? My native resolution is 1280x800 so i dunno whats wrong
