Well that worked nicely as far as changing the password is concerned. Thanks.
It just refreshes /etc/passwd-, /etc/gshadow, /etc/gshadow-, and /etc/group- from /KNOPPIX/etc/...
But if that is necessary, wouldn't it be better to source it into the 'start SSHD' script? or something?
And does anyone have any idea about getting ssh to sign in using the user's public key rather than a password? I've had this working between my Cygwin installation and both SunOS and WinSSHD/Win2003 so it should be possible.
