I think that DSL is nearly there. I got into computers so that I could record my own music. I started with a 486 ms windows 3.1 and moved up to win95 then 98, when KNOPPIX 3.3 came out. It amazed me that such a small distro could be so user friendly, but the single click on the icons scared me. I moved up to winme and then to winxp and always found the system had something wrong with it that I couldn't fix. During this time, I experimented with different Linux distro's, but always found that they quickly became complicated, and I had to type something in. I had always heard about 'bloat ware', I often wondered about why programs had to be so big. Then I discovered DSL, I think it was the 1.3 version. The first thing I noticed was that it was fast, real fast. The next thing I noticed was that I had to double click the icons, I had a chance to think before executing something. The more I used DSL the more I was blown away by what it could do! *****MY DSL WISH LIST***** everything should be point and click, for new users and there must be an easy way to uninstall programs rather than reboot. It may also maybe good to have the default at startup as double click, as to not scare off window users.
I like the analagy of the three elephants, Two big ones and a little one. Could the elephants be representing operating systems? Is the little one DSL?
Forever small, forever beautiful. thank, ubl
