Hi,
I've read about the post-2.1 release plans to maintain 2 branches of DSL. The legacy branch continuing in the tradition of 1.5 with 2.4.x kernels and a branch using 2.6.x kernels.
Having been a happy user of KANOTIX for some time, I can strongly recommend the excellent hardware support in their 2.6.x kernels.
Just as DSL has leveraged KNOPPIX technology, I think it would benefit greatly from levaging KANOTIX as well. Not just the kernels, but check out Kano's scripts in /usr/local/bin. Lots of good stuff there.
Hope the DSL developers find this useful
