I managed to my m/c using DSL CD(Frugal). Only IDE drives are visible and it seems my SATA drives are not recongnized.

Does the DSL support SATA drives/DVD burners?. would be more useful to have one. :D

If you are using DSL version 2.1 or 2.1b, you can enable SATA support by typing in:

dsl sata

at the boot prompt, or by adding "sata" to the append statement in your bootloader's configuration file.  Then re-run the bootloader program to activate your changes.

DSL versions before 2.0 and dsl 2.2rc1 do NOT have SATA support.

DSL version 2.0 can be manually configured to use SATA support, but it is easier to get DSL 2.1b instead and use this version.
