If you want a 2.6? kernel but don't like DSL-N you can build your own. Just grab a copy of ubuntu dapper alternate cd( http://releases.ubuntu.com/6.06.1/ ) then do the server install, after thats done log in with the user you created, then> sudo su <to become root, then do > nano /etc/apt/sources.list < you want to comment(#) out the cdrom and remove the (#) from all the other repo's, after that press> ctrl x < then> y <then> enter <to save it, then> apt-get update < and > apt-get install fluxbox x-window-system-core xdm xterm < then after that finishes just type> reboot < and you will come up to a bare bones fluxbox install, you can open the terminal and start > sudo apt-get install (?name of package) < what ever you want to put on. I usally go graphical so the first thing i do after the first login is > sudo apt-get install synaptic <then i will start making it even smaller by uninstalling the stuff i don't want like the extra xorg drivers for cards i don't have, the raid stuff,etc...After i've done that and rebooted again, then i'll start picking what i want installed(i usally install as i need). You'll end up with a DSL-N like system that you built with none of the DSL-N limitations, mine is 602mb with everything i want to use and boots in 20 seconds! http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/9117/auw0.jpg http://www.ubuntuforums.org/attachm....6389932
