nano is my favorite editor, I use it for everything. When I was as root editing my XF86Config, it sometimes after pressing enter, pgup/pgdown or tab it said "segmentation fault" and dropped me to the command line (without clearing the screen, and the prompt was in the middle of the screen)

This is an old version of nano, I think this bug is fixed in later versions, so you should consider upgrading to 1.2.5 (It's the latest before big changes, and considerably smaller than the new 2.0.1)
