Not every application support Ctrl-C Ctrl-V and/or not into a system wide paster buffer. It is the mouse cut-n-paste that those new to Linux may not know about.

The "?" icon has been fixed in 4.2 to display the "Getting Started" page.

Also curious, I've never seen the Mouse Wizard run, neither from LiveCD nor from first run HD install.  I'd like to try the two-button simulation of middle-button.  I guess I can run the Mouse Wizard manually.  Will try.

It probably different perspectives, I just used the mouse cut and paste to paste your quoted section within Firefox (not a console application).

Booting with option xsetup or exiting X and running xsetup.sh will allow to select 2 button mouse.

That's good information to have, thank you Robert.  I'll continue trying to set up my mouse.  I watched a colleague use mouse copy at the office yesterday (on AIX) and it looked very, very useful.  Knowing that it's my setup helps me perservere.
