Quote (gammelmarakuja @ July 16 2008,10:28) | Aww i acctually liked the idea of combining the strengths of dsl 3 and 4 and making it dsl 5..like an even better DSL...propably the best DSL ever build ;) and dsl core is nice and so on, but can it replace the real DSL? in the end installing all the applications on our owns will take quite a while and having them already complied and installed would be time saving and stress saving |
If you think about it, there are already some excellent distros in which the hundreds of hours getting everything working have already been done for you, at the cost of $20 or so of extra ram. It remains to be seen how much practical use tiny DSL will have (probably not as a desktop replacement), and the people involved building it clearly have lots of time on their hands and love what they're doing.
