As I mentioned in the SmoothWall forum..it would be possible...but you will have to hack the snot out of the SmoothWall's /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall.up IPTABLES entries...then using the rcfirewall.dsl input those into there...that way you would have a very strong protective firewall and be able to have a fileserving/sharing ability...
I did create a SAMBA MOD for SmoothWall, but as we all have said its not good to run a server like that on a firewall appliance...
