Im going to download the new version of DSL, but first Id like to speak out on behalf of all downloaders:
why not have it in some kind of archive (tar.bz2, zip, rar, arj, etc.)?
you could reduce the download size, amount of bandwidth used, and amount of time for slower (and faster) connections (like, Im on dialup... 50mb can take about 3 hours...)
you might be able to reduce to as low as 20 to 25 MB or less! Ive seen 200mb ISOs crushed into about 30MB... Im NOT exaggerating either (it was a zip file)
today, there are TONS of free and open source archiving utilities... why not put them to use?
