There are probably always bits of knoppix stuff left over, so I thought I'd write this thread for the blatantly obvious and non-useful for DSL...

Apparently the knoppix passwd.org's can be removed to free up an additionl 3k of space ;p, and i've seen other stuff but i always forget to post about it...perhaps this morning i was just being a bit pickier.

I can't see why we would need these carry-overs, since they're jus t backups of knoppix's passwd file...but thought i'd throw that out for chew.

Just curious but are we concerned a bout inode space too?

I've seen a few orphan files here and there as well.  Maybe we could start a list.

From Page 288, Knoppix hacks:
Code Sample
deborphan -z | sort -n

Quote
By default, deborphan lists only libraries, not other types of packages.

I'm going to try that next time I chroot into my master copy, for some reason or another, and see what happens. Imagine I'll have to write a bunch of them down, and see what to do then.
 :D
