first i like to say i`m not dumb, i know 50MB will not fit on a 1.44MB floppy disk, but i find this thing called "Sandisk Smartmedia Reader Flashpath Floppy Adapter" what it is/dose it u can put a flash card in it and read it just like a floppy, i just want to know if u can put dsl on it and boot from it, has any one tryed this??????? is it as slow as a floppy???? and if not i plan on buying one with a 64mb card to go with it. and if know one has tryed it then i will test it for everone. and i just did a googled, while doing this post and there alot of them?????
ok whatever
thanks

If I remember correctly, you need to install a special MS Windows ™ driver on your computer if you are going to read this fake "floppy" disk.

If this is true, it will not be possible to boot DSL from it because you can't load the driver at boot time AND you can't boot Linux once Windows is already up and running.

So unless someone has written a special bootloader that is designed for this floppy flash reader, it appears that you are out of luck.

Transfering data through the floppy drive sounds slow to me. I could be wrong. You'll want to look more into this. I read something on the site about "easy to install software." Meaning: DSL (or linux) may not be supported. If it works, however, let us know, and if you had to do anything special, let us know that too. My best guess would be to unpack the iso onto the flashcard, and boot the computer, with the bios setting set to boot from floppy.

Good luck and have fun
