I have a hard disk install of DSL on my laptop and I like fluxbox, but I enjoy trying out other window managers, so I installed Enlightenment.  However, I can't figure out how to stop fluxbox and start Enlightenment.  Does anyone have any ideas how to do it?
DSL is great by the way.  In my opinion, the best things about it are its excellent hardware detection and small size and quick booting.  This is an excellent base to build your personalized system from.  You can add as much as you want, when you want it, with out having to purchase expensive commercial applications.  You can try something out and if you like it keep it.  If not just get rid of it and try something else.
I have already figured out how to get a good looking desktop with fluxbox.  Search around for icons that you like and a background that you like and put them in .xtdesktop.  I load `enhance` with each boot up just because I like good looking displays.  The plain blank fluxbox is a special cool all it's own though and sometimes I use it that way.  The right click menus are great to turn that stuff off and on at will.  DSL is a good hacker's distro.  I wish I could learn how to create my own distro.  I think it would be somewhat similar in philosophy to DSL but with more size and more desktop oriented.  Just for fun.

/etc/X11/Xsession.d/99xfree86-common_start

You could install Icewm with apt, but you'd need to edit your etc/apt source list, because by default it points to stable/Woody, and Woody is  REALLY very old.
I doubt that you could install Kde in DSL, because of the non standard XServer.
If you want Kde my advice would be try something like Knoppix or Mepis.

We have very similar tastes (have a look at the thread 'The future of DamnSmall Linux)
The normal way of swapping Window Managers would be to install GDM or KDM, but they need a lot of Gnome or Kde libraries, and I don't know if that can be done with DSL.
As I have mentioned in the thread 'The future of DSL' my easy way of having a linux OS the way I want it is by using Libranet.
