I was just wondering if you might include SmallBASIC, it is available for Linux, is open source, and would be very handy for slightly less technical persons who just need to do a few quick calculations in BASIC.

I like the idea of having different programming languages on DLS, but it don´t really feels like a good idea if we keep with John´s idea of make DSL just a businesscard distribution.

I would like, however, to make links for the users, so if you install DSL on your hard drive (just like I do) you can install many apps that would not fin in the businesscard cd. A minicd with more apps (maybe with a full Mozilla installation or even an OpenOffice.org installer) may be a better idea for this.

Just thinking... I still can´t wrote with accents in my system and I don´t know why.

I worked on the ebookman port of SmallBASIC and have
just discovered DSL.

DSL and SB have very similar goals and I think the two
packages would make excellent partners. Having SmallBASIC
in DSL would allow the projects to share their user base and
mojo/inertia.

SmallBASIC would bring a many games and useful utilities
for a small footprint.

Maybe if SmallBASIC is too large to add, a tiny Basic interpreter like Chipmunk (http://www.nicholson.com/rhn/basic/) at 81k would work?
