In order to save disk space, the maintainers of DSL have replaced many of the standard GNU utilities with a superslim tool called "Busybox" (Check it out with a Google search if you want to learn more about Busybox).

Busybox works well for most purposes, but some of the GNU utility functions are not supported by Busybox.  So the "Ehanced Install" will download the standard GNU utilities from the Internet and put them back in their rightful place as part of your hard disk installation process.

Hope this helps.
