Because of not having a download-source for the kernel-source-2.4.20-xfs.deb
(normaly found on developer.linuxtag.net/knoppix/sources, but there is only the newest one),
is there a way to get the package from your developers or to move the kernel to 2.4.22-xfs in DSL ?
So it would be easyer to customize DSL!

And getting the kernelsource from Kernel.org and patching itself is not a fine way for me yet, because of being not as firm as other in linux!

Thanks

You could patch in newer kernel but it wont really change much. If you want to compile a new jernel, then download the SOURCE CODE and GCC and other packages neede to compile, e.g. GCC, kernel headers that match the kernel source, make, binutils and gawk. However, all of this may be in vain as DSL is still limited in more fundamental ways that don't allow for customizations.

Hi enebene, as you know I actually deleted the source from the iso.  I will make it available for download when I get the chance.  If you could find the model_k iso it will have the source intact.

It would be really usefull is a 2.4.22 version appeard since some usb keychains need this version to run. Like mine a sony microvault 128Mb, you can't mount it with a 2.4.20 kernel.
