Not being real experinced in Linux, I'm not sure what would be required. SWAT makes configuring a box to connect to an existing Windows network easy. There'd be no way to preconfigure all settings, but simply having Samba/SWAT ready would be nice. :p

i agree that it would be nice.  If you load knoppix and some other distributions and type "smb:/" in konqueror, you'll see that no setup is required and windows shares are automagically set up.  It'd be a nice tool to have, but I think it's a bit big...
