Due to the lack of any response regarding a major bug in FLwriter (pasting text crashes the application) I would like to suggest replacing FLWriter by a more reliable wordprocessor.
If there are not any please remove it.
It is no fun editting a text and loosing it :)

I just pasted 50 pages of text into a single document without trouble....so i don't know what could be wrong except maybe you ran out of memory?

By the way...i believe the "paste" menu item is just for internal cut&paste.  I don't think it utilizes text copied from another program.  Pasting from another program would require the standard select-then-middlemouse action (as far as i can tell).

If you paste text only one time the problem will not occur.
But if you paste for example one line a few times FLwriter crashes.
I tried this on two pc's, one with 1 Gb internal memory and the other with 256 Mb.
Can you confirm this by trying please?

That's pretty much what i did to paste the 50 pages =o)
I selected a block of text in Dillo/Firefox (can't remember which), and then pressed middle mouse in flwriter a few dozen times.
This was DSL 1.4, frugal.

B.t.w. I copy and paste in FLwriter, not from another program.
And the line that I paste a few times does not contain a CRLF or LF. So when pasting it 'crosses' the right 'margin'.
