I play with DSL2.0 on ThinkPad 390X, I like it very much, it is the only OS easy to install and has most things needed.
I understand that it is fun to make something in 50MB which has everything inside. but I think 300MB would be also ok. Main thing that it is fast enough to work on older machines.
I do not understand why not to leave enough fonts to write in all languages, why xpdf reads only english and so on, adding this things will not make machine slower it is just a metter of memory.
I wanted just few things, an editor which could do any encoding, TeX and webbrouser and last two problems are solved while first (which seems to be the simplest) needs a lot of effort.
Clearly it took a lot of effort to make it damn small, but why not to make an extended version with the same set of applications but fully functional, let it be even 600MB, it does not metter.
It seems to be a simpler than making DSL, maybe not as much fun, but people need it more.
