hi everyone
I'm running dsl off the cd rom
1)If i want to download appz like yahoo messenger,
where will the packages be saved to?
Will it be stored in the hard drive or cd ?
If it is gonna be saved to the cd, does that means downloading to cd also burning cd at the same time?

2) if i want that yahoo messenger to be availabe everytime i load dsl, should i put it in the / directory or /cdrom ?

Thank You very much

1.  If it's a mydsl package installed with the mydsl application, it will be downloaded to the directory specified in /opt/.mydsl_dir.  The default is /tmp, which is in ramdisk and not on a physical device.

2.  Neither if you are running liveCD, /cdrom if you run frugal.  If you are using a liveCD you will either have to create a new ISO image which includes the package(s), or specify a "mydsl" location at the boot prompt (example: dsl mydsl=hda1/mydsldirectory).
