I _love_ using older good hardware for new purposes. One of the reasons I deal in HP 200LX's as well ( shameless plug - see http://www.200lx.net for my other hobby ). And the Capio II is just the right size for a totally silent linux box: Standard ne network port, memory to (I think) 256MB (I swapped my 32MB for a 128MB sodimm).

Internally the thing is open to the mains power!! So UNPLUG the mains before you work inside!! Neither fry the CII nor yourself!!

( The advantage is, of course, no Brick attached, everything into one neat package. )

Then you need a directory with loadlin.exe, linux24 and minirt24.gz

Starting DSL (or Knoppix) is then  
> loadlin @options.txt

the KNOPPIX directory has to be in the root of the USB key.
