Sounds like he's having the same problem as me, If i boot a DSL usbhdd install and make changes/create files etc they all dissapear upon reboot and everything defaults. Very frustrating :/

in the boot command line. Copy downloaded apps to /
Open the dsl panel and click the Backup/Restore button and put sda1 in the field, then click the button.

Yeah thats fair enough, but having to do it every single time you are going to shut down is a pain, shouldnt it just be automated or there at least be an option to have it automatically backup everything on shutdown? I wonder what command 'backup' executes...
