My Ram and Swap (64Meg) resources seem to be hogged by Firefox

Is there any way to stop Firefox  doing this?

58% Ram and 70% Swap seems really bad news, just on booting up!

Are there any files or directories than need deleting?

:)

I don't think you can trim Firefox further than that. Firefox eats loads of memory and CPU, though the binary is small.
If you don't need XUL, go for Opera.

I agree.

With only 64MB of RAM+Swap, Opera is the best choice.

For even lower RAM usage, try Opera from the UCI section of the MyDSL repository.

I'll give Opera a go, if I can get it installed.  My track record in this dept is awful! *LOL*

BTW I went to the Firefox 'Go' pull down menu and found 'History', right-clicked on anything I could find and deleted it.  This might help.

I down loaded using My DSL'Opera' from  'UCI' to /ramdisk/home/dsl/opera/ and it's Ikon popped into the desktop.

GREAT!  I then changed it's home page, shuffled it's Bookmarks. Used it.  More GREAT!

Then shut the system down, re-booted it and no Ikon!

The only way I can get it back is to re-download it.

I must be missing some vital step?

Any ideas anyone.

:)
