I was using an mandriva 10 on a P2 300Mhz... but it's too slow.
this linux looks good

is there an myDSL instant messaging extension like gaim or sthg else wich works with msn messenger?

Yes, there's gaim. I use the gtk one remember you need the gtk2 extention too.

so extensions are not linked together?
if I try to install gaim it won't install gtk2 automatically?

there is also amsn, look in the repository. In the 0.95 the sounds don't work.
