I use DSL 2.3 as a live cd. I have installed gtk2-0705.dsl and gimp-gtk2-2.2.8.dsl using the DSL Download Extension Panel. Every time I open a file in gimp, it crashes. So I tried starting gimp using the terminal:
When I start gimp, bash returns:
(gimp:1170): Gdk-WARNING **: Error converting from UTF-8 to STRING: Could not open converter from 'UTF-8' to 'ISO-8859-1'
 and 6 times:
(gimp:1170): Gdk-WARNING **: Error converting from UTF-8 to STRING: Conversion from character set 'UTF-8' to 'ISO-8859-1' is not supported
When I click the "File" menu, the second warning occurs twice again.
When I click at "Open...", bash returns:
(gimp:1170): Gtk-WARNING **: Could not find the icon 'gnome-fs-home'. The 'hicolor' theme
was not found either, perhaps you need to install it.
You can get a copy from:
 http://freedesktop.org/Software/icon-theme/releases

(gimp:1170): Gdk-WARNING **: Error converting from UTF-8 to STRING: Conversion from character set 'UTF-8' to 'ISO-8859-1' is not supported

(gimp:1170): Gdk-WARNING **: Error converting from UTF-8 to STRING: Conversion from character set 'UTF-8' to 'ISO-8859-1' is not supported
And when I then select a file, gimp crashes (before I can click the "Open" button.):
(process:1170): Gdk-WARNING (recursed) **: Error converting from UTF-8 to STRING: Conversion from character set 'UTF-8' to 'ISO-8859-1' is not supported
 aborting...
 gimp: terminated: Aborted(script-fu:1171): LibGimpBase-WARNING **:

 script-fu: wire_read(): error
So I followed the link but I don't know what to do then.
Has anybody an idea what to do?
 Thanks in advance,
 Max
