Topic: nessusd help please, nessusd service will not start - why?

I used the DSL extensions application to download both the nessusd service and the nessus client. When I try to launch nessusd (as root) I get:

nessusd: error while loading shared libraries: libnasl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Also, and this is a less important minor detail, but even though the nessus/nessusd extensions were downloaded with no problems, no icon appears on the desktop and no nessus item appears on any fluxbox (sub)menu.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have the same difficulty. I'm forced to use

another distro for nessus; even though I'd much rather use DSL.

Let me know if you get any help!

did you suceed in getting the nessus update with the other distro? which distro did you use? (knoppix-STD does not seem able to download and install the updates...)
